Complete exercise 3.1 in the textbook (page 90) and answer the following questions (post only the answers to the following questions):
1. What did you learn from this exercise?
2. How might you use what you learned in the classroom?
3. Why do you think we learn to ask questions?
1.
ReplyDeleteI learned that there were three levels of cognitive questions and student thinking. I guess before I never but that much thought into what you ask, how you ask it, and to how in-depth you can or should get with your questions. I also learned that there are key words that can relate to which level you’re taking about. For example: complete, count, define, and describe when asking questions in the lowest level.
2.
I believe that I will definitely need to use the three different levels when it pertains to teaching in the high school. The freshman might need more of a lower level compared to the seniors when it comes to how I word my questions for them. Also the level of questions could change from week to week depending on what we are discussing.
3.
I think we learn to ask questions because we are trying to pull as much information from the students as possible. Also by asking different levels of questions we can determine what level the student is at with learning, comprehension, and also with understanding not just the topic at hand but what is being asked of them.
